Mad Dogg Athletics, Inc. (www.spinning.com) is the creator of the Spinning® program, and is the world’s largest equipment-based education company and the home of Peak Pilates®, Resist-A-Ball®, Bodyblade®, freeFORM™ and SPIN Fitness® brands. The company manufactures home Spinner® bikes, Pilates and functional training equipment, DVDs, and a complete line of Spinning-branded apparel and accessories. The company is seeking a strong Controller to join their team. The Controller will work closely with the CEO/President and Vice-President and be managing a team overseeing all accounting/finance functions for this company. The Controller will lead, manage and motivate the accounting team to provide operational and financial information and reports for the company and its business segments on an accurate and timely basis; manage and review the GL and monthly close process; manage and coordinate year end review schedules; develop and manage financial statements and monthly management reporting packages. This includes financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and corporate requirements.
Education and Experience
• Extensive MAS 90/200 experience required
• CPA preferred
• Minimum of 8 years experience in multi-unit, mid-tier manufacturing and service corporation
• Substantial experience with accounting systems and financial policies and procedures

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
• Manage department staff and maintain compliance to financial policies and procedures
• Train and lead staff to perform at an optimum level of performance
• Review and prepare company financial statements on a timely and accurate basis
• Establish a comprehensive system of internal controls
• Understand and support the critical accounting needs to enable operating departments to optimize profit while monitoring and controlling expenses
• Manage processes for financial forecasting and budgets
• Monitor and control cash flow and operations and cash forecasts
• Successfully complete internal and external financial reviews, coordinate/work with CPA firms, and deliver information requested by auditors on a timely basis
• Financial planning and analysis, including budgets, forecasts and margin analysis
• Typical accounting functions (revenues, receivables, cash collections, purchases, payables, cash disbursements, inventory and percent of completion accounting)
• Payroll and benefits administration
• General ledger maintenance and month end close
• Internal and external financial reporting
• General compliance matters, including licenses, and sales and income taxes
• Preparation of daily performance reports
