Metal Sculptor/Product Designer – Artist/Sculptor– sheet metal and wire -- steel, brass, bronze, stainless, copper--International Furniture Company–Full-time
Rapidly growing international Home Décor Design and Distribution Company seeks well-organized, smart, innovative Product Designer/Artist with familiarity of the medium-high end retail furniture market, metal work and a practical understanding of manufacturing processes.
Job responsibilities include:
1) Prepare trend study
2) Create and utilize Design Brief to provide focused concept drawings
3) Fabricate and/or oversee fabrication of samples
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Develop concept drawings based on Design Briefs
2. Prepare presentation boards for design review
3. Modify product designs
4. Prepare dimensional drawings and/or AutoCAD’s for production
5. Direct free lance sculptors and artists to create relevant product.
6. Direct fabricators to make samples or make samples
Requirements:
1. Bachelors Degree/Fine Arts Degree
2. 3 to 4 years of product design and sample development experience, home décor a plus
3. Illustrator, Quark, AutoCAD experience
4. Ideal if based in Los Angeles, but not required
5. Experience with metal fabrication (welding, casting, forming, rolling, casting) a plus
6. Experience with metal finishing (plating, patinas, powder and wet coating, flame finishes) a plus
