A fast running company in the states is looking to hire a full-time Research & Administrative Assistant, who will manage an effective research office and ancillary studies on the Medical campus. Major areas of responsibility include administrative and office support in all areas associated with managing a large scale, multi-faceted research entity, coordinating work flow for several senior investigators, supervising temporary staff, and facilitating communication networks between staff researchers and collaborators. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and update bibliography databases using Reference Manager software.
- Perform medline searches and retrieval of articles
- Assist in preparation of grant proposals, annual reports, progress reports, etc.
- Assist Office Manager with purchasing all equipment and service maintenance contracts. Maintain inventory control of equipment.
- Use various software applications to assist senior investigators with presentations, manuscripts, grants, and numerous other research-oriented activities.
- Create & generate graphic slides for research presentations (PowerPoint and Harvard Graphics).
- Proofread completed galley proofs of manuscripts prior to publication in medical journals and communicate with publishers regarding edits.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience in academic or medical environment
- BA or BS in Public Health or Research related field
- Managerial skills in maintaining a small but busy research office - Competency at computer with working knowledge of WordPerfect/Word; Excel; and PowerPoint software
- General accounting procedures, business arithmetic, typing; excellent grammar and composition
