Responsible for providing dance instruction for a variety of dance forms including ballet, hip hop, jazz and modern in a fun, safe environment to members ages 3 and up at our Burbank Community YMCA.
Minimum Requirements:
• Passion for working with children and youth..
• 3-5 years prior experience as a Dancer and or Dance Instructor preferred.
• Effective planning and organization of dance skills and activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively and relate to children, youth and adults as well as with a diverse group of individuals causing them to feel welcomed, supported and successful.
• Commitment to students’ success through effectively engaging students and parents by building relationships that cause them to feel welcomed, supported and successful.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other instructors and staff.
• Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to inform, educate and motivate students in all areas of dance for students ages 3 and up.
• CPR/First Aid certification
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS DRUG SCREENING AND BACKGROUND CHECK
Responcibilities:
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
• Responsible for teaching in a safe, progressive manner to ensure safety and success at every stage of learning.
• Responsible for planning and implementing lesson plans that provide proper instruction in all dance technique including proper warm up, flexibility and conditioning exercises and encouraging personal best in each student.
• Responsible for modeling and instilling our 6 pillars of character including trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship in all aspects of job.
• Responsible for following all safety procedures.
