Associate Director of Research Operations:
The Associate Director of Research Operations will oversee and manage the day to day operations of AXIS, a Clinical and Translational Research Center focused on eliminating health disparities at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science. The Associate Director for Research Operations will monitor progress of research activities and goals and objectives and program expenditures and prepare reports. In addition, he or she will assist investigator to access research resources, facilitate collaboration, perform public relations activities, and address operational challenges at the system level. He or she will oversee the development and maintenance of the Center web site and supervise research management and web site development staff. The Associate Director for Research Operations will develop the standard operating procedures for the management of this newly funded center. He or she will report directly to the Center Director.
Requirement:
• PhD in the basic, clinical, behavioral, computational, social or management sciences. Masters level candidates will be considered with extensive experience.
• Ten or more years research operations and interdisciplinary team management.
• Excellent organizational management and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work well with research scientists, administrators and community collaborators.
• Excellent team building, communication and interpersonal skills are essential
• Computer programming experience desirable.
• Experience with NIH grant application and reporting practices.
Salary commensurate with experience.
