General Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, the employee will have responsibility for conducting fire/life safety equipment inspections. Tasks will include

a) Hands-on field inspections of existing fire/life safety equipment to ensure functionality and regulatory compliance;
b) Updating equipment documentation;
c) Updating existing database records;
d) Coordinate the replacement of inoperable or malfunctioning components/equipment.

This position is based in Los Angeles (west side). Local travel within the greater LA area will be required. This position requires moderate to extensive walking and climbing stairs in a campus-like environment.

Prerequisites:

1. Oral Communication skills: The candidate must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as this position requires significant personal interaction in a variety of settings.
2. Written Communication skills: The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare thorough, yet concise written technical reports using MS Office;
3. Computer Literacy: The candidate must be able to navigate through MS Office applications, database programs;
4. Personal transportation is required along with state-required insurance.
5. Availability: The candidate must be able to work a minimum of 4 days/week
6. Physical Condition: The candidate must be in sound physical condition to accomplish the tasks within the allotted timeframe.
