Be Nice to Your Plants Event Starts With Ceremony at REDCAT

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, City Councilman Tom LaBonge and other city officials joined with members of the city’s arts community this morning to kick off Los Angeles Arts Month.
The Tuesday event at the REDCAT theater included leaders of local museums and an L.A. Opera soprano.
L.A. Arts Month, which will run through the end of January, encourages Angelenos to patronize the city’s museums, galleries, theaters and other cultural resources. The city-created event, which debuted last year year, offers promotional ticket giveaways and other incentives to bring attention to local arts attractions.
