Our Emotions are Signals (Westside-Southbay)

Our Emotions are Signals

Our emotions are indicators of how we see the world in general; do we react, do we resist, do we fear real life events? In every situation such as relationships, school, college, job, career or just driving on the freeway are opportunities which challenges us everyday.

Life forces us to make a decision and to meet it half-way, we have a choice, and either we rise above what we perceive as negative, or be defeated by life itself. Our emotional state depends on the level of our perception and our perception is dependent on our beliefs, our experiences and knowledge. A great cause of frustration, depression, anger, resentments and hatred is usually generated by an expectation that things should be different from which they really are.

How much do we know ourselves?

Specific emotions such as anger, hatred, envy, and fear can be tempered by how much we know about the specific emotion that is working in us. To be free from our negative emotions is a worthy goal. Self study is the direction we could take; the great philosopher Spinoza writes: “That to know our emotions is to truly love ourselves and to love GOD.”

In the Spinoza and Girdjieff study group we can learn how to become a MASTER of ourselves and how to achieve true inner POWER. If you're interested in seeing and wanting to experience life in a new way; join me in a weekly study.
